Real Madrid suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat to Girona at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Casemiro scored for Real Madrid in the 25th minutes, but Goals from Cristhian Stuani (65 minutes) and Girona Portu (75 minutes) gave Girona a surprise away win.

Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos was sent off in the 90th minutes for receiving two yellow cards.

Real Madrid manager, Santiago Solari believes that Girona were better than Real Madrid in the second half and that caused his players a lot of problems

Speaking after the match, Solari said: “Girona were better in the second half, they caused us a lot of problems. We’ve been on a good run and today we did not do the same things.

“We tried to increase our energy levels with our changes but we did not achieve it – we have a big squad and a lot of good players.

“We did not take our chances when we had them and it was really difficult for us in the first 25 minutes.”
