LAGOS, Nigeria, May 2026 — Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reacted to the defeat of celebrity businessman and nightlife promoter, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for a House of Representatives seat in Imo State.
Cubana Chief Priest contested for the APC ticket representing the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections but lost to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu, after securing 14 votes.
Okay News reports that Cubana Chief Priest currently serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, a political support group aligned with President Tinubu.
Reacting to the outcome in a post shared on Instagram on Sunday, Seyi Tinubu encouraged the businessman to remain optimistic despite the defeat.
“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” Seyi wrote.
Cubana Chief Priest later reposted the message on his social media page.
The APC aspirant had earlier reacted to the election result in a video circulating online, stating that he had no regrets contesting for the position.
