So-Safe Corps Debunks Bandit Rumors in Ogba-Iyo

IJOKO OTA, NIGERIA: Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps Operations Commander for Ifo and Ewekoro, Samuel Oluwole, debunked rumors of a bandit invasion in Ogba-Iyo, Ijoko, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Okay News reports that Samuel Oluwole released an audio statement on Tuesday afternoon WAT to clarify that local community leaders had summoned herdsmen for an identification meeting.

The commander stated that the mass movement consisted of individuals responding to a call by community development chairmen and local chiefs. The leaders directed the herdsmen to present their members for verification to distinguish residents from strangers.

“There is nothing called bandit right now in Ogba-Iyo Ijoko or its axis,” Samuel Oluwole said.

The security agency deployed personnel to the location to maintain order during the community gathering. The local authorities established that anyone who fails to attend the meeting will be treated as an outsider.

“As I’m talking to you now, there is four commanders, that is division commanders over all that area that is supervising that movement,” Samuel Oluwole said.
