By Damilola A.

Nigerian singer Joshua Iniyezo, popularly known as Solidstar, has candidly shared his battle with drug abuse in a recent podcast appearance.

The artist revealed that he encountered significant challenges while grappling with substance abuse, particularly with a banned substance called Ice.

During the podcast, Solidstar disclosed that he was introduced to Ice in 2021 by younger individuals. Reflecting on the impact of the drug on his life, he expressed the profound negative effects it had on him.

“A lot of things happened to me. Young boys introduced me to a substance, Ice,” Solidstar recounted. “This substance affected me a lot.”

He further explained how the drug altered his perception, leading him to develop a distorted sense of self-worth.

Solidstar revealed that he began to see himself as a “king” and felt entitled, believing he didn’t need to pay for items he purchased.

In one instance, he recounted walking from Awoyaya in Lagos Mainland to the Oriental Hotel on the Island, demonstrating the extent of the influence the drug had on his behavior.
