Global music streaming giant Spotify has unveiled a new interactive feature called Listening Stats, giving users around the world a live, evolving snapshot of their music habits, and changing how fans engage with their favourite sounds.
Announced globally on Thursday, the feature delivers a dynamic, data-driven experience that updates every 24 hours, allowing users to track their top artists, songs, and musical trends in real time.
Described as a “living and breathing” musical diary, Listening Stats offers listeners a continuously refreshed recap of their listening activity, complete with new personalized playlists and highlights. Each week, users receive a curated breakdown of their most-played artists and songs over the past month, along with a special weekly highlight, whether that’s a new discovery, a milestone moment, or a reflection of their current mood.
Spotify said the innovation aligns with its broader mission to make music discovery more social, intuitive, and personalized.
“The platform is always innovating ways to bring fans closer to the artists and sounds that matter, and this new feature is a game-changer for music conversation,” the company said in a statement.
Built for social sharing and community interaction, Listening Stats enables users to instantly post their musical snapshots across social media platforms or compare playlists with friends, family, and colleagues , turning personal taste into a shared cultural conversation.
The new feature expands Spotify’s lineup of fan-favourite personalization tools such as daylist, Release Radar, and Discover Weekly, all of which help users explore, rediscover, and define their unique sound identities.
According to Spotify, Listening Stats also serves as the perfect build-up to Spotify Wrapped, the streaming platform’s end-of-year global event that showcases users’ most-streamed songs and artists in a viral, data-driven celebration.
