Super Eagles Will Get Better With More Friendly Games – Tijani Babangida

Former Nigerian international, Tijani Babangida has advocated for friendly games for the Super Eagles to perfect the new playing style Sunday Oliseh has introduced to the team.

The former Ajax Amsterdam winger explained that friendly games will afford the team to blend and put to practice, everything they’ve learnt since the assumption of Oliseh as the Eagles manager.

Babangida said this following the national team’s abysmal performance in Tanzania, which has resulted in Nigeria trailing group leader, Egypt with 2 points and 6 goal advantage after 2 games each.

Oliseh will test a new set of players as his side welcome next-door neigbours, Niger in a friendly on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.

“We need to play more friendly matches like the one against Niger as this will help the players fully understand the new system the coach is bringing to the Super Eagles,” said top team official Tijani Babangida.

The former national team captain still has a midfield mountain to surmount as the combination between Obiora Nwankwo and Izunna Uzochukwu failed him when they were most needed in the game against Tanzania last weekend.
