Tinubu Assures Nigerians of Security Progress and Economic Recovery in Eid-el-Kabir Message

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

ABUJA, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, urging citizens to embrace sacrifice, compassion, and unity as the country continues its economic and security reforms.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message issued on Tuesday, the President said the Islamic celebration reflects the enduring values of faith, obedience, and selflessness demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

Okay News reports that Tinubu acknowledged the economic and security difficulties facing the country but maintained that the reforms introduced by his administration were already producing positive results.

According to the President, Nigeria’s economy has become more stable over the past three years, positioning the country as a more attractive destination for investment, job creation, and long-term growth.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” Tinubu stated, expressing confidence that ongoing reforms would continue to improve national security and expand economic opportunities.

The President also addressed persistent insecurity in parts of the country, noting that despite recent successes by security agencies, including the reported elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, terrorists and bandits still pose threats to some communities.

He assured affected Nigerians that the government remained committed to defeating criminal elements and restoring peace nationwide.

Tinubu further encouraged Muslims to pray for the country, support the less privileged, and strengthen national unity during the Sallah celebration.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to continued investment in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development, while wishing Nigerians a peaceful and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
