NAIROBI, Kenya – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Nairobi early Monday morning to participate in the high-level Africa Forward Summit, a strategic gathering aimed at fostering innovation and investment between African nations and France.
Okay News reports that the President’s aircraft touched down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at approximately 12:15 AM local time. He was received by a Nigerian delegation including Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
The two-day summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” is co-chaired by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron. The agenda centers on critical global shifts, including green industrialization, energy transition, artificial intelligence, and the urgent restructuring of the global financial architecture to better serve developing economies.
Following his engagements in Nairobi, President Tinubu is scheduled to proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum taking place between May 14 and 15. The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” will bring together over 2,000 private sector leaders and policymakers to discuss accelerating economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investment.
Throughout the three-nation trip, which also included a stop in France, President Tinubu is expected to deliver statements highlighting Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms and hold bilateral meetings with global business leaders to attract foreign direct investment into the country’s key sectors.
