Washington D.C., UNITED STATES — Following the assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, President Donald Trump has called for the immediate completion of a “Militarily Top Secret” ballroom currently under construction on the grounds of the White House.
In a statement released via his Truth Social media platform, the President argued that the shooting would never have occurred if the event had been held within the secure perimeter of the executive mansion.
Trump emphasized that the project, which he claims is “on budget and substantially ahead of schedule,” features the highest level of security and is designed without overhead rooms to prevent unauthorized access.
Okay News reports that the President also took aim at a pending legal challenge against the construction, described as a “ridiculous lawsuit” brought by a local resident. He demanded that the suit be dropped immediately to ensure that “nothing should be allowed to interfere” with the project’s completion.
The President’s remarks come as Secret Service protocols are under intense scrutiny following the firefight with Cole Tomas Allen. Trump noted that presidents for the last 150 years have sought such a secure facility, characterizing the current White House as the “most secure building in the world,” provided events remain inside its gates. He highlighted that the new ballroom would eliminate the need for high-profile media galas to be held in external venues that he considers inherently less secure.
