Renowned Nigerian singer and actress Onyeka Onwenu has reportedly passed away at the age of 72.
The legendary artist was said to have collapsed after performing at a birthday celebration for Mrs. Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Okay.ng gathered that Onwenu was immediately rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos following the incident. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
As of now, Onwenu’s family has not released an official statement confirming her passing.
Onyeka Onwenu, often referred to as the “Elegant Stallion,” has been a prominent figure in Nigeria’s music and film industry for decades. Known for her powerful voice and socially conscious lyrics, she has left an indelible mark on the country’s cultural landscape.
