ABUJA, Nigeria – Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has praised President Bola Tinubu for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship in Bama, describing it as a major boost for regional education.
Okay News reports that the Governor made the remarks during a visit to the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, on Thursday. Zulum noted that the swift appointment of principal officers for the institution demonstrates the federal government’s commitment to agricultural innovation and human capital development in the North-East.
The newly appointed leadership team for the university includes Prof. Tijjani Kalli as Vice Chancellor, Abba Kaka as Registrar, Bashir Subaru as Bursar, and Aishatu Halilu as Librarian. Zulum emphasized that the school would serve as a hub for entrepreneurship and economic growth in a region recovering from long-term security challenges.
The Governor pledged the full cooperation of the Borno State Government to ensure the institution begins academic activities without delay. He was accompanied on the visit by several stakeholders, including House of Representatives member Engr. Bukar Talba and elder statesman Alhaji Mamman Tubo.
The establishment of the specialized university is expected to address food security challenges by training a new generation of farmers and entrepreneurs, providing a modern academic foundation for the state’s primary economic sector.
