SÃO PAULO, Brazil — A 21-year-old university student has died after falling from a bridge during a recreational jumping activity in São Paulo State, Brazilian authorities have confirmed.
Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas lost her life after plunging from a bridge in Limeira on Saturday. Emergency responders, including a police helicopter crew, were deployed to the scene, but she was pronounced dead.

According to local reports, de Freitas was a physical education and sports management student. Authorities said her fiancé was present at the scene when the tragedy occurred.
