Veteran Nigerian music artist Innocent Idibia, widely recognized across Africa and internationally by his stage names 2Face and 2Baba, has welcomed a baby boy with Natasha Osawaru, a serving legislator in Edo State, located in Southern Nigeria. The development marks an important moment in their recent union, which has attracted wide public interest both within Nigeria and among fans abroad.

Okay News reports that news of the birth began circulating earlier on Friday after Natasha Osawaru was seen arriving at a medical facility, prompting public speculation that she was in labour. Her appearance at the hospital generated rapid online conversation across various social media platforms, especially among followers who have closely monitored the couple’s relationship timeline for several months.

Hours after the initial speculation, the lawmaker confirmed the birth through a short post published on her official Facebook page. In her message, she stated that she and the music star had been “blessed with a baby boy.” The announcement immediately attracted hundreds of congratulatory comments from supporters, political followers, and fans of the globally known singer.

The baby’s arrival adds another layer to the highly publicised story of the couple’s relationship. Innocent Idibia, known for his longstanding contribution to the Nigerian and African music landscape, formalised his relationship with the Edo State legislator earlier in the year. This step came after he ended his previous marriage with Annie Idibia in January, a development that received significant media attention across the continent.

Following their engagement, which took place on Valentine’s Eve and generated widespread discussions, the couple went ahead with family introductions and other traditional ceremonies acknowledged within various cultures in Nigeria. These events were widely shared online and became trending subjects within the country’s entertainment and political spaces.

In July, the couple held a private traditional wedding ceremony in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria. Only close family members and a few invited guests attended, maintaining a low-key atmosphere while still attracting interest due to the public profile of both individuals.

The birth of their baby boy is considered one of the couple’s major milestones and is expected to keep them in the public spotlight for the foreseeable future.
