2Baba Confirms Separation from Annie After Denying Instagram Hack Claim

By Damilola A.

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, famously known as 2Baba, has confirmed that his earlier announcement about his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, was genuine, dismissing claims that his Instagram account was hacked.

In a video shared on his Instagram story on Sunday night, 2Baba clarified the confusion surrounding a series of posts that had initially left fans puzzled.

The controversy began earlier in the day when the artist took to Instagram to reveal the end of his 13-year marriage to Annie. In the heartfelt post, he wrote:
“Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long… I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now, and currently filed for divorce.

“I would grant a press release soon to say my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”

Shortly after the announcement, another post appeared on his account claiming that it had been hacked, urging followers to disregard the earlier message. The post read: “My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control. #onelove!”

However, in a surprising twist, 2Baba later posted a video refuting the hack claim and confirming that the initial post about his separation was authentic.

He acknowledged the situation publicly, signaling that his marriage to Annie is indeed over.
