Senator Shehu Sani has advised Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, to forgive the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

The former senator, who represented Kaduna South, called on the governor let the monarch be, stating that he might need him in future.

He tweeted on Friday: “Dear Brother @GovUmarGanduje, forgive, forget and move on and let the Emir be. Power is transient. You May need him tomorrow when everyone has left.”

Ganduje and Sanusi are reportedly at loggerheads for an undisclosed reason, but it was suggested the governor started a vendetta against the Kano emir for not supporting his second-term bid.

The issue saw the creation of four new emirates to add to the existing Kano Emirate in a move perceived to be aimed at reducing the monarch’s influence.

Emir Sanusi is being investigated by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission for alleged N2.2 billion land fraud.
