The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that the federal government has given approval for the sale of its Falcon 900B aircraft.

In an ‘invitation to tender’ released by NAF spokesperson Edward Gabkwet, interested buyers are encouraged to submit bids either via email or physically.

Prospective buyers can inspect the aircraft at the 307 EAG hangar of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, according to Gabkwet.

The spokesperson also specified that all bids should be quoted in dollars, and the submission deadline is set for December 24, 2023.

“The federal government of Nigeria has approved the sale of Falcon 900B aircraft owned by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF),” the statement reads.

“In compliance with provisions of the Public Procurement Act 2007, the NAF hereby invites all interested parties to submit bids for the purchase of the aircraft.

“The bids can be submitted by email or physically.

“If submitted by email, the bids are to be password-protected and sent to [email protected] while the password is to be sent separately to [email protected]

“For physical submission, the quotations are to be enclosed in an envelope and sealed, while the envelope is to bear the name and address of the interested company/entity as well as the description and reference to the request.

“It should also bear the statement, ‘DO NOT OPEN BEFORE 24 DECEMBER 2023’. Please note that the bids would be processed immediately after the expiration of the deadline for submission.”

The tender invitation provides details about the Falcon 900B, which was inducted into service on October 3, 1990, with NAF as the sole owner.

The aircraft has specific performance capabilities, including takeoff at 6,002 feet above sea level, a landing distance of 3,519 feet, and a certified ceiling of 51,000 feet. It is also equipped with a Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS).

Prospective buyers are instructed to submit their bids to the office of the committee for the sale of Falcon 900B Aircraft (NAF-961) chairman at the NAF headquarters in Abuja.
