Well-Of-Death

A 37-year-old well digger simply identified as Shuaibu, has died after being trapped in a well he was digging, while looking for his daily bread.

The sad tragedy occurred at ‎41, Kalejaiye Oshomo Street, Ota Ona, Ikorodu, Lagos, and has thrown the people of the community into sorrow as the labourer was said to be a very likable person.

All efforts to rescue him by sympathizers failed and the Lagos State Fire Service had to be called in and their operatives brought out the corpse of Shuaibu.

Some people of the area attributed his death in a profession he has been at for over two decades to spiritual forces, but the Director of the state Fire Service, Razak Fadipe, said the victim might have inhaled ammonia gas in the well, which made him felt dizzy and lose consciousness and subsequently drowned.
