Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its alleged oppressive control, saying it surpasses even the harshest days of military dictatorship.

Atiku made this statement in response to the recent arrest of Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) and the raid on the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project’s (SERAP) office by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Atiku accused the administration of intimidating and suppressing organized labor and civil society.

He also mentioned the recent detention of a journalist, which was later claimed to be an error, and emphasized the need for the government to focus on addressing terrorism and banditry.
