The U.S. Department of State – Bureau of Consular Affairs has revealed that Nigeria ranks among the countries with one of the highest U.S. visa rejection rates, standing at 29%.

This places Nigeria in the upper tier of nations with significant challenges in obtaining U.S. visas, alongside countries like Ukraine (34%), Russia (39%), and Pakistan (41%).

For Nigerian applicants, the 29% rejection rate indicates that nearly one in three visa requests is turned down, reflecting the difficulties faced by many Nigerians seeking entry into the United States for business, tourism, or educational purposes.

This high rejection rate contrasts with countries like Israel (3%), UAE (4%), and Japan (6%), which have much lower rejection percentages.
