The Federal Government, states, and local government councils have shared a total of N2.103 trillion from the Federation Account as revenue for September 2025, according to the latest figures released by the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).

The communique, signed by Bawa Mokwa, spokesperson for the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, was issued on Friday after the October 2025 FAAC meeting in Abuja. The allocation represents a slight decline from the N2.2 trillion shared in August 2025.

According to the report, the total distributable revenue of N2.103 trillion comprised N1.239 trillion in distributable statutory revenue, N812.593 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N51.684 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

The communique revealed that a gross revenue of N3.054 trillion was available for the month of September. From this, N116.149 billion was deducted for the cost of collection, while N835.005 billion was allocated for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

The gross statutory revenue stood at N2.128 trillion, which was N710.134 billion lower than the N2.838 trillion recorded in August. However, VAT collections rose to N872.630 billion in September, up from N722.619 billion in August — an increase of N150.011 billion.

From the N2.103 trillion shared among the three tiers of government, the Federal Government received N711.314 billion, states got N727.170 billion, while local government councils received N529.954 billion. Additionally, N134.956 billion (representing 13 percent of mineral revenue) was shared among oil-producing states as derivation revenue.

Breaking down the statutory allocations, the Federal Government received N581.672 billion, states got N295.032 billion, and local governments received N227.457 billion, while the derivation fund remained N134.956 billion.

From the VAT allocation of N812.593 billion, the Federal Government received N121.889 billion, states collected N406.297 billion, and local governments received N284.408 billion.

For the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), the Federal Government took N7.753 billion, states got N25.842 billion, and local governments received N18.089 billion.

FAAC also noted that in September 2025, Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL revenues increased significantly, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CET levies declined. Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) recorded a marginal rise, whereas Oil and Gas Royalties and Excise Duties slightly decreased.
