Okay News reports that Morocco has achieved a historic milestone by winning the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup after a convincing 2-0 victory over Argentina in the final match held in Santiago, Chile.

The North African team sealed the win through two quick goals from Yassir Zabiri, who scored in the 12th and 29th minutes to put Morocco in control. Argentina pressed hard in the second half but failed to break through Morocco’s organized defence.

Team captain Rayan El-Mourabet led with composure and strength, while goalkeeper Youssef Bakkali delivered an impressive performance, making several key saves that kept Argentina from scoring.

Morocco’s journey to the top was far from easy. Drawn in a challenging group with Spain, Brazil, and Mexico, the young Atlas Lions rose above expectations, topping their group despite an opening defeat. They went on to eliminate Brazil and Spain in later stages to advance.

In the knockout rounds, Morocco defeated South Korea in the round of 16, outclassed the United States in the quarter-finals, and edged out France in a tense semi-final that went to penalties. Their victory over Argentina completed a remarkable run.

With this triumph, Morocco becomes the second African country to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup, following Ghana’s memorable 2009 success. The win also marks Morocco’s first-ever FIFA trophy at any level, confirming their rise as a growing force in international football.

Football fans across Africa have celebrated the victory as a proud moment for the continent and a symbol of progress for the next generation of players.
