Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has fired back at her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, accusing him of lies, manipulation, and emotional abuse while denying his claims that her family contributed to her alleged struggles with substance use.

In an emotional Instagram post shared shortly after midnight on Sunday, the actress said she was “tired of being vilified” and could no longer stay silent as her reputation and family were “dragged through the mud.”

“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this,” she wrote. “You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason.”

The post comes days after Nwoko took to X (formerly Twitter) with a lengthy statement accusing Daniels’ siblings of enabling her alleged drug addiction and disrupting her recovery.

Responding directly, Regina admitted experimenting with drugs but rejected her husband’s narrative, calling it a diversion tactic. “Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” she wrote. “The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media, something dramatic enough to distract everyone from the real issue!”

The 25-year-old actress alleged that Nwoko’s true aim was to “isolate and break” her, claiming he used his influence to target her family and close circle. “You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me,” she wrote. “Then, when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you because I will have nowhere else to go.”

Regina further accused Nwoko of hypocrisy, alleging that he once encouraged her drug use and later weaponized it against her. “You say you want me to go for rehab, but you are the same Ned who always wanted me high because, in your words, I’m ‘sexier’ when I’m high,” she said.

In a series of pointed accusations, Daniels claimed Nwoko regularly seized her phones, locked her indoors, and used doctors to administer medication against her will. “Why don’t you also tell them how you lock me up and doctors inject me with drugs meant for people with bipolar disorder?” she wrote.

She also challenged his credibility, claiming he used similar accusations against his previous partners. “Why don’t you also tell them that all your wives and ex-wives are on drugs? And can you be kind enough to explain why that is?” she added.

Addressing claims that Nwoko financially supported her and her family, Regina dismissed his account as an attempt to devalue her sacrifices.

“No matter how much you think you spent on me, it can never equal the value of the time I gave you — my prime years, my energy, and the career opportunities I sacrificed while being with you,” she wrote.

In her final statement, Regina denied that she was ever legally married to Nwoko.

“For the record, I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us,” she said. “We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed. Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force.”
