A renewed wave of tension has hit the family of Nigerian senator and businessman Ned Nwoko, following a public confrontation between his Moroccan wife, Laila Charani, and actress Regina Daniels.

The dispute, which has since gone viral on social media, centers around claims by Regina that she had financially supported Laila in the past.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday, Laila Charani dismissed the allegations as “false and disrespectful,” asserting that she has always been adequately provided for by her husband.

“How dare you say that you ever gave me money, for what exactly? I am very contented with the provisions my husband makes for our family. We should show Nigerians our bank accounts to see who is paying money to our accounts,” she wrote.

Laila also defended her husband’s character, stressing that Senator Nwoko “completely hates alcohol, drugs, and smoking” and would never tolerate such habits in his home. She claimed the ongoing tension between Regina and Nwoko stems from his attempts to help her quit substance abuse.

“You know my husband has always been clear that he would never accept any wife who drinks, smokes, or uses drugs. The only reason you are fighting him is because he wants you to stop your drug and alcohol use,” Laila alleged.

The Moroccan mother of five went further to accuse Regina of being a “bad influence” since joining the family, claiming the actress had exposed domestic workers and relatives to drugs.

“You know too well that I almost lost my marriage when you introduced me to drugs six years ago, and it was my husband’s quick insistence on intervention that rescued me from that dark path. You have been a bad influence since you married into this beautiful family, giving drugs to nannies and our workers including your younger sister Destiny,” Laila wrote.

She added that she no longer trusts Regina around her daughters, citing concerns over her conduct.

“You infected everyone with your virus, and this is why I will not trust my daughters around you unsupervised, especially when I found out that you were sleeping with every single girl around you,” she stated.

Laila urged Regina to seek help and continue with rehabilitation rather than dragging other wives into her issues.

“Please go and sort yourself out. Seek help immediately and continue with your rehabilitation, and leave the other wives out of this. I say this not out of anger, but from a place of truth and concern for the level of lies that you are peddling,” she concluded.
