Chelsea’s difficult week continued on Saturday as Enzo Maresca’s side were held to a frustrating 0–0 draw by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The result comes just days after a damaging midweek defeat to Leeds United, further slowing momentum following last weekend’s draw with Arsenal.

The Blues failed to find any rhythm in a match short on clear chances, leaving them to drop crucial points in the Premier League title race.

The stalemate sees Chelsea lose further ground on Manchester City and Aston Villa, with Maresca’s men now five points behind Unai Emery’s high-flying side.

Chelsea’s afternoon grew worse when forward Liam Delap, who only recently returned from a hamstring injury suffered in September, was forced off with a suspected shoulder problem. Bournemouth, meanwhile, held firm and earned a deserved point in front of their home crowd.
