Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has escalated her dispute with Lagos-based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor after displaying $10,000 in a video, which she claimed was given to her by the pastor on December 23, 2025.
Okay News reports that Ogala alleged the money was offered alongside a request that she make false public statements shifting responsibility for her allegations to unnamed clerics, a demand she said she firmly rejected.
In the same video, the actress insisted she was not blackmailing Pastor Okafor and made it clear she would not implicate any cleric to protect him. She also reacted to claims allegedly attributed to the police, displaying a cigarette on camera and stressing that she does not take substances, saying she was shocked by what she described as attempts to misrepresent her character amid the controversy.
The latest development comes against the backdrop of Ogala’s ongoing legal battle with the founder of Grace Nation Liberation City, whom she has accused of breaching a promise to marry her after an alleged relationship that began in 2017.
Ogala is demanding ₦1 billion in damages, claiming emotional, reputational, and financial losses, including an alleged ₦45 million transfer to the cleric, while Pastor Okafor has denied wrongdoing, framed the backlash as a spiritual attack, and maintained that his recent marriage followed divine direction.
