Aiyedatiwa Sacks All Aides, to Appoint 1,000 New Officials

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Akure, Nigeria – Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has dismissed all political aides in Ondo State, in what his administration describes as a move to improve efficiency and strengthen service delivery.

Okay New reports that the decision affects all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs), who were thanked for their contributions and relieved of their duties with immediate effect. The governor’s spokesperson said the sweeping action is part of a broader restructuring aimed at enhancing coordination within the government.

To replace them, the administration plans to appoint about 1,000 new aides drawn from across the state’s wards and local government areas, a move seen as both a political and administrative reset. Meanwhile, several officials have already resigned their positions ahead of the 2027 elections, in line with electoral guidelines, as political realignments begin to take shape.
