Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Marcos Alonso will miss Chelsea’s Europa League match against Malmo on Thursday night says Maurizio Sarri.
In a pre-match press conference, Sarri stated that he rested Marcos Alonso while Loftus-Cheek is out because he has a back injury.
However, Sarri hopes that Loftus-Cheek will be available when Chelsea meet Manchester United in the FA Cup.
‘Loftus-Cheek is out with the same problem, with his back,’ Sarri said.
“Maybe it’s not really serious this problem, but at the moment he’s out.
“I hope for the next week and match in the FA Cup, but it was impossible for tomorrow.
“I wanted Marcos to rest for the match. No physical problem.”
