Arsenal midfielder, Mathieu Flamini has disclosed that the team would not want to play UCL title holders, Barcelona in the knockout stages of the competition, but would not mind any other team.

Arsene Wenger’s men advanced from the group stages in spectacular fashion, courtesy of an inspiring performance from Olivier Giroud who netted thrice in Olympiacos to send the Gunners through.

And now that they finally made the cut, 31-year-old Flamini told reporters he believes the team can beat anyone – except Barcelona.

He said: “We obviously don’t want Barcelona as they are a top team but for the rest, we will see.”

Reminiscing on the Olympiacos game and their chances going forward, the Frenchman said he was confident the Gunners had the quality to become a top side in Europe this season.

“It was a good performance against Olympiakos and we showed great team spirit. We had the chance to prove to everyone we have the qualities of being a top team in the Champions League,” he noted.
