Benue State Government Ready to Implement N70,000 Minimum Wage – Gov Alia

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has announced that his administration is prepared to pay the newly approved minimum wage of N70,000 to state workers.

In a statement to journalists in Makurdi, the governor expressed confidence in his administration’s ability to implement the new wage, citing measures taken to boost the state’s internally generated revenue and block financial leakages.

Governor Alia emphasized the importance of paying civil servants a fair wage, acknowledging that without a dedicated workforce, effective governance is impossible.

He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the minimum wage approved by the Federal Government and organized labor, ensuring that Benue State queues in line with the national standard.
