Blessing Okagbare Finished Second In London Diamond League Anniversary Games women’s 100 metres final

okagbare1Nigeria’s track and field queen, Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor, came second in the London Diamond League Anniversary Games women’s 100 metres final on Saturday.

The Nigerian sprint superstar finished 10.98 seconds behind Dutch’s Dafne Schippers, who came first with a new national record of 10.92 seconds.

Ivory Coast’s Muriel Ahoure finished third in 11.01 behind Okagbare, who had a slow start but she powered through in the last 20 metres to run Schippers close.

The Nigerian queen of the tracks is now top of the 100m Diamond Race with eight points along with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
