BREAKING: Lagos Speaker Mojisola Meranda officially Resigns, Paving Way for Leadership Reshuffle

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has resigned from her position on Monday, March 3, 2025.

Her resignation is expected to facilitate the reinstatement of impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, who, according to sources, may also step down in the coming days to allow for the emergence of a new Speaker.

This development follows a high-level meeting held on Sunday night at Lagos House, Marina. The meeting was attended by members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and lawmakers.

During the plenary session, Setonji David was nominated as Chief Whip.
