The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) has announced March 3, 2018, as date for local government elections in the State.
This was contained in a statement by the electoral body on Wednesday.
According to the chairman of the Commission, Prof. Stanley Orobator, political parties are expected to conduct their primaries before the end of the month and commence campaigns from next month.
In a related development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has said they would begin preparations for the conduct of the primaries soon.
