MAKURDI, Nigeria — Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is expected in Benue State on Tuesday as part of her nationwide engagements under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
The visit is aimed at advancing programmes focused on social welfare, women’s empowerment, healthcare and education. During her stay in the state, the First Lady is scheduled to commission the newly completed Ishaya Bakut Road and engage with women and youth groups on issues affecting their communities.
Okay News reports that Senator Tinubu is also expected to roll out support measures for vulnerable groups through intervention programmes designed to improve livelihoods and strengthen social inclusion. The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Renewed Hope Initiative to extend humanitarian and development-focused assistance across the country.
Residents have expressed optimism that the visit will highlight ongoing development efforts in Benue State while drawing greater national attention to humanitarian and social issues affecting local communities.
Authorities said security agencies and relevant government ministries have put arrangements in place to ensure a smooth and successful visit by the First Lady.
