Trump to Host Iraqi Prime Minister at White House

BAGHDAD, Iraq: United States President Donald Trump will host Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi at the White House in July.

Okay News reports that the United States Embassy in Baghdad and the Office of the Iraqi Prime Minister announced the diplomatic meeting on Tuesday.

The embassy issued a joint statement from the Iraqi leader and Tom Barrack, the Special Presidential Envoy to Iraq.

“Special Presidential Envoy Barrack conveyed President Trump looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Al-Zaidi to the White House mid-July to discuss the future of this important relationship,” the statement said.

Barrack traveled to the Iraqi capital to meet with the prime minister. The two officials discussed disarming and dissolving armed groups operating outside state authority in the country.
