PARIS, France – Authorities arrested 780 people across France on Sunday, May 31, 2026, following violent clashes during celebrations of Paris Saint-Germain winning the Champions League over Arsenal.

Okay News reports that Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced the casualty and arrest figures during a press briefing.

The Paris public prosecutor’s office confirmed the death of a young man following a motocross bike accident on the local ring road. The office also announced that one person was wounded with a bladed weapon in the capital and remained in critical condition.

Authorities deployed 22,000 police officers across the country to manage the crowds. The arrest total represents a 32 percent increase compared to the celebrations following the club’s tournament victory last year.
