I Was an Armed Robber at Age 14 – Pastor Odumeje

By Damilola A.

Controversial Nigerian clergyman, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has shared shocking details about his early life, revealing that he was involved in armed robbery and terrorism as a teenager.

Speaking to his congregation, the Onitsha-based pastor disclosed that he grew up in a dangerous neighborhood on Nnewi Street in Onitsha, Anambra State, where he was drawn into a life of crime at the age of 14.

However, he credits his transformation to his mother, who guided him toward Christianity and helped him find salvation.

“I was born in Onitsha city. No 3, Nnewi Street. And I grew up in a dangerous street. I became an armed robber at the age of 14,” Odumeje revealed.

“I became a terrorist until Jesus Christ arrested me through the help of my mother to change my life… a destroyer became a saviour.”

Odumeje, known for his controversial and often unorthodox practices, has frequently been in the news, with many describing his methods as unconventional for a religious leader.
