Iceland Beat Kosovo to Qualify For 2018 FIFA World Cup

Iceland on Monday qualified for the World Cup for the first time after beating Kosovo 2-0 courtesy of goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Johann Gudmundsson.

The nation of just 330,000 people achieved this sensational feat just over a year after having a fairytale run at the European Championship,’a run that saw the team knock out England.

Needing all three points to secure top spot in the group, the Iceland players rose to the occasion and gave fans a chance to once again enjoy the Viking Clap.

Croatia grabbed the playoff ticket in the group, coming second after a 2-0 victory over Kosovo.

Meanwhile, Serbia has also qualified for the mundial with an Aleksandar Prijovic goal all that team needed to see of Georgia.

The Group D playoff ticket fell to the Republic of Ireland which beat Wales 1-0 in Cardiff. There would be no Bale in Russia.
