Labour Party to Hold Lagos Chairmanship Primaries Friday Using Indirect Method

The Lagos State Labour Party has scheduled its chairmanship primaries for Friday in preparation for the July 12 Local Government elections.

State Chairman, Pastor Dayo Ekong, confirmed in an interview with Journalists that the primaries will take place across various council areas. The party will use an indirect delegate system to select its candidates.

“Our councillorship primaries will be conducted today (Thursday) across all wards, while the chairmanship primaries will follow tomorrow in all local government areas,” Ekong stated.

She emphasized the party’s commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections, expressing confidence in a strong performance during the upcoming polls.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission is set to oversee the election in 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas across the state.
