Laycon Demands Unpaid Royalties from DJ Neptune for ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’

By Damilola A.

Nigerian singer and rapper Olamilekan Moshood Agbeleshe, popularly known as Laycon, has publicly expressed frustration over unpaid royalties for his collaboration on the “Nobody (Icons Remix)” track.

Laycon, who rose to fame after winning the 2020 edition of Big Brother Naija, featured in the remix of Joeboy’s hit song “Nobody,” produced by renowned disc jockey and record producer Imohiosen Patrick, better known as DJ Neptune.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Laycon aired his grievances regarding the lack of payment, nearly four years after the release of the song.

The 30-year-old rapper questioned the status of his agreement and share from the project, addressing DJ Neptune directly in his post.

“Abeg o… @deejayneptune how far my agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ song though? Is it not still ready? Haba, it’s been 4 years o,” Laycon wrote, tagging DJ Neptune in his message.

The “Nobody (Icons Remix)” was a notable collaboration that featured Laycon alongside Joeboy, and it gained significant traction upon its release.
