Liverpool have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim.

Brendan Rodgers splashed £29million on the 23-year-old making him the second most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history.

Firmino who is currently with the Brazilian national team at the Copa America has agreed to a five-year-contract worth more than a £100,000 per week.

The transfer will be completed after a medical and work permit.

The Reds will pay £22m up front as part of the transfer which could pave the way for want-away forward Raheem Sterling to leave the club.

Firmino is the fifth summer acquisition of Liverpool after the signing of James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan and Joe Gomez.
