Lookman’s Hat-Trick Seals Europa League Title for Atalanta

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Atalanta have won the Europa League final, defeating Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 with a phenomenal performance from Ademola Lookman, who scored a stunning hat-trick.

This victory marks Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini’s first major trophy in his career.

Lookman opened the scoring with a back-post finish in the 12th minute, followed by a curling effort in the 26th minute, and completed his hat-trick with a powerful left-footed strike in the 65th minute. He made history as the first player to score a hat-trick in a Europa League final.

Bayer Leverkusen’s 51-game unbeaten run came to an end, as Xabi Alonso’s team struggled to keep up with Atalanta’s dominant performance. Despite their phenomenal season, Leverkusen’s hopes of a treble are over, but they can still secure a domestic double by winning the German Cup against Kaiserslautern on Saturday.

This victory marks a historic moment for Atalanta and Lookman, who stole the show with his incredible performance.
