Man City Keep Title Hope Alive With 2-0 Win Over Forest

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Manchester City kept the pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Goals from Josko Gvardiol and Erling Haaland secured the three points for City, who now trail Arsenal by just one point with four games remaining.

Forest, who are fighting to avoid relegation, had their chances, including two clear-cut opportunities for Chris Wood, but ultimately fell short. City’s win extends their unbeaten run in all competitions to 31 matches and keeps them firmly in the title race.

The champions, seeking an unprecedented fourth straight English top-flight title, took the lead in the 32nd minute through Gvardiol’s powerful header from a Kevin De Bruyne corner. Haaland, who came on as a substitute in the second half, sealed the win with his 21st Premier League goal of the season, latching onto a De Bruyne through ball and finishing with ease.

Forest remain just one point outside the relegation zone with three games to go, while third-placed Liverpool are realistically out of the title picture, four points behind City with one more game played. City’s win sets up a thrilling finale to the Premier League season, with the destiny of the title race firmly in their own hands.
