Manchester United Ponders Romelu Lukaku Deal

By Gbolahan Adeyemi

Manchester United’s chase of a world class striker intensifies as they seek to fill the void created by Zlatan Ibrahimović’s departure, compete favorably in the premier league and also do well in the champion’s league.

Romelu Lukaku was one of the names Mourinho gave to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward before the end of last season. It was believed that the 24-year-old Romelu Lukaku, would rejoin his former club Chelsea after scoring 25 Premier League goals last season.

United are confident of securing the signature of the Belgium international, after failing to reach an agreement to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid
BBC reports that, United are already in talks with Everton over a deal for former England captain Wayne Rooney to return to Goodison Park. That could make negotiations relatively smooth, even if the fee being spoken of would challenge the world record £ 89 m transfer that took Paul Pogba to Old Trafford from United last summer.

Although Mourinho sold Lukaku to Everton for £28m during his second spell in charge of Chelsea in 2014.  He is a client of agent Mino Raiola, who also looks after Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimović and Henrik Mkhitaryan.
