ABUJA, Nigeria – Musa Muhammad Kamarawa, a former aide to ex-Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle, has alleged that missing government critic Abubakar Idris, widely known as Dadiyata, was killed in his presence.
Okay News reports that Kamarawa made the explosive claim in a petition addressed to the Inspector General of Police. He accused two senior police officers of threatening him with the same fate he allegedly witnessed befall Dadiyata and another individual at a security facility in Kaduna.
In the petition, Kamarawa also claimed the officers extorted him and forced him to conceal his relationship with Matawalle, who currently serves as the Minister of State for Defence. He alleged the interrogation was manipulated and unfairly targeted his uncle, former Sokoto Governor Attahiru Bafarawa.
Dadiyata, a prominent lecturer and social media commentator, was abducted by gunmen from his Kaduna residence in August 2019 and has been missing since. Following these new revelations, security experts and political commentators are urging authorities to launch a transparent and independent investigation into the claims.
