John Mikel Obi is undergoing a medical at Middlesbrough ahead of signing, The Sun UK reports.
The Super Eagles midfielder, travelled from London to the north-east yesterday after agreeing personal terms.
Obi is to join Middlesbrough after spending the past two years at Tianjin TEDA in the Chinese Super League.
The player back in January cancelled his contract at Tianjin TEDA, okay reports.
Mikel spent ten years at Chelsea where he won so many trophies including the UEFA Champions League in 2012.
