By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Abuja, Nigeria – First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has strongly condemned the physical and sexual assault of women and girls during the recent Alue-Do festival in Ozoro, Delta State.

Okay News reports that the First Lady issued the press statement on Sunday after horrific viral footage surfaced showing young women being subjected to degrading and barbaric treatment during the community event.

While acknowledging her deep respect for Nigeria’s diverse cultural traditions, Senator Tinubu firmly stated that no custom or festival grants anyone the right to violate the dignity and freedom of women or girls.

In her address, she commended the Nigeria Police Force for the arrests already made in connection with the disturbing incident and urged all relevant authorities to ensure the perpetrators face the full weight of the law.

The First Lady also appealed to the victims of the assault to seek necessary medical and psychological assistance, offering prayers for their healing and peace during this difficult period.
