Perpetua Nkwocha Set To Be Named New Super Falcons Coach

Perpetua-Nkwocha

Nigeria football great, Perpetua Nkwocha, is set to be named the head coach of the Nigerian women’s team, the Super Falcons. The four-time African women footballer of the year will be assisted by her former teammate in the national team Ann Chiejine.

This is coming at a time when the Nigeria Football federation, NFF, has been accused of abandoning the senior women national team who have been without a coach for almost six months following their inability to pick a ticket for 2016 Rio Olympics at the African Games in Congo last year.

Arguably Nigeria’s greatest ever female footballer, Nkwocha has bagged her coaching credentials at her Swedish base, while former international goalkeeper Chiejine comes with some experience from her time as an assistant coach of Nigeria’s U17 women’s team, the Flamingoes.

Their immediate task will be to qualify the Falcons for the 2016 African Women Championship in Cameroon later this year, where Nigeria are the defending champions after beating the Lionesses in the final in Namibia two years ago
