Regina Daniels Clarifies Controversial Statement on Multiple Boyfriends, Confirms She Married as a Virgin

By Damilola A.

Nigerian actress Regina Daniels has addressed recent backlash following remarks she made about having multiple boyfriends before her marriage to billionaire businessman Ned Nwoko.

During a live session on social media, Daniels mentioned that she had “about 20 boyfriends,” each serving different purposes, before she met her husband.

Her comment sparked widespread criticism, with some accusing the actress of being involved with numerous men prior to her marriage.

In response, Daniels took to Instagram on Wednesday to clarify her statements, emphasizing that despite her many male friends, she remained a virgin until she married Nwoko.

“I want to clarify that the ’20 boyfriends’ comment was meant to soothe my husband and educate young girls that having several male friends willing to do things for you doesn’t mean you owe them your body,” Daniels wrote. “Yes, I had many friends, but I promised to keep my virginity until marriage. And guess what? I did! It’s a big flex.”

The actress added humor to her explanation, addressing her critics and fans: “What did you guys expect? It’s your little beautiful sweetheart, Regina Daniels. Of course, men and women would admire me. So everyone, please chill.”

Daniels also revealed during her live session that her family initially opposed her marriage to Nwoko, who is significantly older than her.

She dispelled rumors that she was forced into the marriage, stating, “When people think I didn’t have a choice or that my mom forced me, they don’t know my mom was actually against it.”

Regina Daniels married Ned Nwoko in 2019, and they now share two children. Despite the criticism surrounding their age difference, the actress has consistently defended her relationship and continues to be a prominent figure in Nigerian entertainment.
