Popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has fiercely defended her senior colleague, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, in response to recent allegations made by fellow actress Angela Okorie regarding Johnson’s health.
Angela Okorie, during an Instagram Live session, had claimed that Mercy Johnson was “seriously ill,” adding that she had chosen to forgive her following past disputes. She said the alleged illness was severe enough that she “wouldn’t wish it on an enemy,” and urged Johnson to seek forgiveness from those she may have wronged in the past.
But Regina Daniels, in a strongly-worded reaction via her Instagram Story, dismissed the claims, stating, “I’m sorry and with all due respect, Aunty Angela, you dey mad! Abeg no forgive for this side, we no dey forgive, continue and whilst at it, no forget say she get pikin wey gidigba, no dey shalaye!”
The social media drama comes amid lingering tension between Okorie and Johnson. In May 2025, Okorie had also claimed that Mercy Johnson’s weight loss was not due to the slimming tea she promoted online, but allegedly linked to unspecified health concerns.
Mercy Johnson has yet to make any public comment on the matter.
