Gernot Rohr has called on Pep Guardiola allow Kelechi Iheanacho play regularly or leave him to play elsewehere.

Kelechi Iheanacho

Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, has reiterated his call on Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola to either feature Kelechi Iheanacho regularly or leave him play elsewhere, saying out of favour Super Eagles forward has the quality to play for the Citizens.

Iheanacho has not made the matchday squad for the team in their last four games, a situation which many believed was triggered by the signing of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus.

Gabriel Jesus’ fine form has not only kept Iheanacho out of the matchday squad, he has also reduced star forward Sergio Kun Aguero to the role of a substitute.

However, the coach of the senior team of Nigeria believes that 20-year-old Iheanacho has qualities which manager Pep Guardiola is aware of and, if he doesn’t get to play him, he would suggest the forward leave the Etihad.

” Kelechi has qualities and his manager is aware of that, but, sometimes, it depends on how the team plays. If he (Kelechi) is not getting games at City, the logical thing to do will be to move elsewhere and play,” Rohr said.

The Brazilian star has also taken Iheanacho’s spot in the Manchester City squad for the Champions League. Pep Guardiola dropped the Nigerian striker from his side’s A-list Champions League squad and added the 20-year-old to the Citizens B-list, meaning ‘Nacho could still feature in the competition.

The B-list is made of players who have been part of a club for, at least, two years and are born in 1995 or later. Basically, the Academy kids.

Tosin Adarabioyo, who was part of a few group stage games, is also on the ‘B’ list was also added to the secondary list.
